All my grades are in. You know what's depressing? I was one class away from a 3.84! If Mr Allen changes my one grade (he forgot to put in all my 2 Corinthians questions) I will have a 3.68. It's sad how one grade makes you drop so far! But still, I am very thankful to God for helping me through all 18 credits! And now I am going to try even harder!

I wish there were no such thing as A-'s like most schools! Haha! I have decided that school is addicting. Once you get on a roll, you just want to keep pushing. Yeah, very addicting. And the fact that our grading system is so hard, it pushes you even more. Maybe that's part of the whole "molding young men and women of character" thing. Something about teaching discipline maybe? No wonder nobody graduated Summa Cum Laude! (3.9 and above)

Oh yes... the hike. It was longer than we had anticipated. We thought it was around 9 miles, but it was more like 14miles. Surprisingly, I'm not that sore! It was quite fun except for the fact that we had 2 water bottles between the three of us. We got gatorade at the end. After the first 10 minutes, we thought we had reached Sunrise Mt. Then we realized we hadn't and we walked for about an hour and got to a fire tower. We thought we had then reached Sunrise Mt but the fire dude on top of the tower showed us we had barely even made progress. Haha! We finally reached it and we were dying for water. There was a random motorcycle dude who wasn't too bright and Kait asked him if there was a water fountain at the parking lot about 100 meters down the path. The guy said "Well there's a porta-potty..." HA! Catherine and I cracked up. Anyway, we hiked almost 6 hrs straight w/ a few one minute breaks here and there. So by the end we were quite tired. Catherine and I were way ahead Kait and we were waiting for her at one point and suddenly we heard this noise and it was Kait filling the forest with her singing. She was singing "On the Street Where You Live." It certainly filled the forest!

We started the hike talking a lot (mostly about our mothers and the things they used to do when they were our age and what we'd be like when we're mothers) and towards the end we were just too tired. Oh and we talked about why on earth our parents let us go on a hike without an adult present.. and then we realized we're supposedly legal adults. Haha. Kait nearly killed us while driving home... ok, not that bad. But we were thinking how stupid it would be to die in a car accident pulling out of the state park where we had just hiked 14 or so miles! So Catherine called her mom and told her how far we had hiked so in case we died, at least the parents would know how far we hiked. Haha.


We went to Friendly's at the end. I still think it was a shame to put back all the calories lost. Haha. I had salad and soup for dinner and I shared some type of brownie thing w/ Kait.

Flashback!

So this picture sums up the last few weeks of school! I was minding my own business trying to type notes on my computer, read commentary after commentary, listen to music, and briefly check my voicemail when Philippe popped out of nowhere to take a picture of me "doing many things." Haha.

So the semester is officially over. People have gone home... it's so bittersweet. These last 2 weeks were incredibly busy and I thought I'd never hit the deadlines... and now it's over. So sad. I feel like there HAS to be homework due next week! So I'm going to do as much Lit and Arts reading as I can to get ahead. I miss school already. I hope next semester's classes were as fun as this past semester's. I haven't officially picked a favorite class, but I didn't have one that I absolutely hated (like past semesters). AND I only skipped class once (for a good cause). Not that I'm in the habit of skipping classes a lot...

I went to graduation and saw some people end the college chapter of their lives (unless they want to come back and get a graduate degree). And then I realized that Lord willing, I'll be up there too (although I'd rather not walk up the aisle and on stage thank you very much) not too far from now.

After graduation, Serina, Katrina (and their parents), Elena, Chanhthu, Patrick, Walter, and I went to the food court and had our last lunch together. (Colleen was already on her way back to NH) Can't believe the year is over. It was sad saying goodbye to everyone (except the geeks that are staying all summer like me). Katrina and Chahnthu aren't coming back next year. I'm already looking forward to next semester. Elena and Colleen are going to be suitemates with Jessi and me! And we're on main campus!!!!!

The weather has been beautiful! I love it! I could be outside forever! Except I just discovered that ticks are prevalent in the grass here. That's annoying. I didn't know that, so of course I was lying on the grass a lot. And ticks carry lymes disease. Agghhh.

So I decided to make a summer to-do list:
1) Survive 5 classes! (I am so excited! Except for the first class)
2) Work
3) Exercise and take advantage of the outdoors
4) Read The Sovereignty of God and More than Conquerors
5) Work on (and finish) my scrapbook from my trip to the Philippines LAST summer
6) Start compiling an album of the past 2 years at PBU so I won't have to compile 4 years in the end
7) Learn how to be very creative in cooking using a microwave, a hotpot, and a rice cooker
8) Practice my flute and the piano
9) Read as many kid's books in the library as possible
10) Actually accomplish some of the things on this list

I should take a nap. But why??? I don't have to drive back to school tonight!

Oh by the way, I mentioned watching "Facing the Giants." Well it's actually a good movie! I thought it would be one of those "Christian" movies that really have nothing to do with Christianity other than a wishy-washy type of faith. Granted, the acting was not all that amazing. It's a sports movie but not nearly as dramatic and well done as your typical sports movie like, say, "Remember the Titans." However, the Christianity portrayed was quite decent. Basically, it was about believing that nothing is impossible with God. The main plot was about a football coach who was facing a very terrible football team, people that wanted to get him removed from being coach, and on top of that stress, not being able to have children. It was a Christian school he was coaching in, but not a very strong Christian school. There was a man who walked the lockers every day, praying for each student as he passed their locker. One day he went in and talked to the coach and basically encouraged him to have faith and "prepare the fields for rain" even though it seemed there would be no rain. So the coach spent a lot of time reading his Bible and in prayer and then went in and with a whole new attitude. His attitude actually spurred revival in the school. At one point he asked his wife "If God never gives us children, will you still love Him?" His wife was committed to still loving God in whatever circumstance He put them in. Anyway, basically the soccer team made it all the way to the State finals and won. He then talked about how nothing is impossible with God. And then in the end his wife told him that he had "made the team... the daddy team." So yeah, for a Christian movie, it was pretty good.

PS The Provost made a grammatical error yesterday during graduation. It bugged me.

SPRING SEMESTER IS OVER!!! So far I only have 3 grades in, so it makes me look really smart... until the rest of the grades come in and pull it down again. So far I have an A and two A-'s! I took a Dr A exam and it took me an hour and a half and I had to redo the first half because I realized something I had done wrong. I got a 97!!!!!!! (I could have gotten a 98 but I made a STUPID mistake) Yes!!! So now it says I have a 3.79. I wonder what it will look like when everything is in. Agh.

Let's see... I spent the day moving! Such a pain! I moved one carload of stuff down to Heritage this morning and then Walter was on main campus with his truck and he took my fridge (aka "ref") down. I didn't really unpack in Heritage because I'm lazy. Then I ate lunch outside on the walkway (the graduation banquet was today so we had to go to the Eagle's Nest and the plates were styrofoam so I went outside. It was gorgeous today!!!! Then I went to work and announced that I had no desire to be there because it was sooo nice out and Sarah said she didn't care if I left early. Sweet! I only stayed an hour and just got the mail out which was the only thing that really needed to be done. Then I spent the next two hours loading my car with NJ stuff and cleaning. Since then I've been hanging out in Heritage except for the time I went walking all over campus looking for Laura so we could get pizza. Zeeno's Pizza turned into the second PBU cafeteria. All the hungry students were down there. Haha. We ate our pizza outside on a hill because it was so nice out.

Tonight I am going to watch "Facing the Giants" (some sort of sports movie about a Christian guy or something... Colleen likes it) with Colleen and Elena and company and go to bed. I have to clean out the rest of my room and go to the graduation and then leave.

Yesterday we girls went to the park for Cyprus's birthday. It was LOVELY! We spent most of the time doing cartwheels, tossing Walter's very useless frisbee, and taking pictures. Next semester, to kick it off, we're going to dress up and have a tea party by the stream at the park. =) I'll post pics some other time (including ones from Easter and everything after that... life has been too busy lately!).

What are some past events...
* Student Appreciation Banquet. Now that was fun. The profs were all in aprons (except Mr Oliff) and were waiting on our tables. It's fun to have Dr Benware and Dr Hirt fight over tables. Haha. It was highly amusing.
* Fiddler on the Roof was GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loved it!!!

Yeah there was probably more but it kinda got lost in studies and I don't remember anything anymore. Oh well!

Sorry I haven't updated. I'm drowning in homework. I teach tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday and I have papers, lesson plans, etc due. So I will come back into the world of blogging if I get through Thursday of next week and if I'm not raptured before then.

Swearing off instant messenger and dropping off the face of the earth for the weekend. I have a ton of work due in the next few weeks and using this weekend to try to get ahead. I have reading, lesson plans, website building, exams, etc coming up beginning Monday, plus work. It was nice knowing you all. Haha.

People, I'm posting! Oh happy, happy day for all you fans out there.

So (terrible way to begin a sentence, but I do it anyway, so...) I ended at Fall registration! Now wasn't that exciting. Anyway, Thursday I skipped my first class of the semester!!! I was a good student this semester! I had an RA interview at 1 and my class was 12:30. I didn't miss much anyway. It was only Ed Tech.

The RA interview went pretty well. It was a group interview with 3 other girls that are friends of mine and a freshman guy that I had never met before. We were quite an amusing group combined. It really didn't feel like an interview -- the atmosphere was really relaxed. We talked about why we want to be RA's, what we think is expected, conflict, etc.

The freshmen registered for classes on Thursday. The poor sophomores the day before had serious IQ Web problems and it took many of them nearly 2 hours to register. IT worked really hard and changed a lot on IQ Web and sped things up. The sophomores were bitter at the freshmen who registered in 10 minutes instead of 2 hours. Haha. They were also bitter at all the dual level education majors (like me!!!) who registered early. ;) I registered Elena's classes because she was freaking out.

Friday I visited Millie in her new place. I assumed it was just a nursing home, but when I drove up I saw the sign that said it was a place for alzheimer patients care. I saw Millie and she was so changed! She knew who I was, though, but she was weak and very forgetful. She was a little forgetful before, but since she fell, she has gotten much worse. I would ask her questions and get answers that had nothing to do with what I said. She didn't seem to understand a lot of things so I resorted to reading my Bible to her since she liked being read to before. At one point she asked me if I was reading Pekingese or what translation it was. (When she was younger, she and her husband traveled all over the world) I then started reading Psalm 23 and what happened next amazed me. She began to mouth the words and I asked her if she knew how the psalm ended. She closed her eyes and said, "Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever!" When she opened her eyes, they were shining. I asked her something (I don't remember what) and she began with "Well I think my grades are pretty high..." I thought she was going to say something completely unrelated again but her next words were, "God always listens to me. I know He will always be there. When I fell, He was listening to me. And I don't think I have to worry because He is always there." After that moment, she lapsed back into forgetfulness and did not seem to understand much of what I said. It was amazing. I have never been in a situation like this. It's hard, but I like it. I never know when something will strike a chord. I am praying that God will use me in her life and that He will flood her mind with Scripture every day. She's a sweet lady, always worried about school and that I get everything done. Hehe.

Saturday morning, I ventured into the refugee camp, or at least that's what the Ed office looked like. This year, they got the great idea to have our schedules signed in 2 days instead of 2 weeks. All the advisors were in the School of Ed and all of the Ed majors had to go in to get their schedule approved and signed. On Friday, there was a mandatory Education chapel to let us know about all the changes. (Thankfully I don't have Emergent Lit on Fridays anymore so I was able to work for an hour, go to chapel, and go back to work, then class, and then lunch. I was pretty hungry, though, and my stomach growled really loudly in Prophetics and Andy laughed at me and as soon as class was over, he turned around and said "So did ya miss breakfast???") Anyway, because of all the changes, many people had to change their schedules. There were a lot of tears, but the advisors all kept their cool. I took up valuable time going over my schedule and the courses I still need to take. ;) I was pretty much on target the whole time. She wanted to move me out of Teaching Science and put me in Teaching Social Studies because that would cut a unit out of my assignments. I asked to stay in Teaching Science because Dr. A is taking over and I've had her for 2 semester straight and I know how her classes are. Wheeee. I dropped Ethics and Ed Psych because Mr Schlenker forced me into the grad class I was waitlisted for. Sweet deal. For the first half of the semester, I'll only have an 8am class on Tues and Thurs (and 4 on Mon and 3 Wed and Fri). The one grad course is a half semester (except it's a 5hr long class).

Saturday afternoon was the MuKappa picnic. It was a lot of fun!!! There were some great pics, especially the one of the guys being warriors and jumping in the air. Benaiah stole the pictures (tsk tsk Benaiah) so if you want to see the best ones, click on the link to his blog. (I don't feel like uploading them.) We tossed a frisbee around and I think I have a frisbee throwing disability. Everytime Jordan tried to show me the proper way to throw it, it failed. I decided to stick to my own way. Haha.

After dinner on Saturday, I played tennis with Colleen, Walter, and Alex. We played doubles and it was a lot of fun. (I was really sore the next day.) A bunch of us watched "Mary Poppins" in the lower level of the MAC.

Sunday, Colleen and I went to Providence. We went to the Wasson's for lunch and as usual I brought my dispensational questions to Pastor Wasson since he came from that background. The poor Wassons... everytime I go there, I bring up something that happens in class. Haha. (The other half of the time I'm threatening to send Ryan spam from PBU)

Monday I had a big paper due, but I had done it on Friday! Yessss! (Oh yeah, Jessi and I had roomie bonding time on Friday because we got pizza and watched "Cars".) Monday night class was pretty cool and now Walter owes me Rita's. Chickfila has a free something every Monday for PBU students and Monday was milkshake day. Walter dared me to ask Mr Hook if we could get out of class early so we could get milkshakes. Hey, I even suggested a class trip to Chickfila to which Mr Hook said, "Wow, Becky, you're just full of good ideas." Mr Hook asked what time Chickfila closed and people were calling out things like "Five minutes!" or "7pm!" Anyway, Mr Hook said he'd let us out at 8:20 but ended up letting us out at 8:10 because he finished Proverbs. (He sometimes lets class out 15-30 minutes early so people can watch "24" whatever that is.) Walter said it was worth it. Elizabeth, James, Walter, Aaron, and I went to Chickfila only to find out that they had run out of milkshakes quickly. Oh well, we still got out of class early thanks to me. =) Haha.

Tuesday I babysat the little pumpkins. Thankfully they were both tired out and slept right away... except Caroline woke up after a half hour and took about 45 minutes to fall asleep again. I spend my night in the library writing a lesson plan for health.

Wednesday I had to teach my health lesson. The first day of the health section, we had to state our names and give a healthy habit. Being the serious student that I am, I said that my healthy habit was eating chocolate because it 1) makes me feel happy (which isn't really true but happiness is part of health or something) and 2) it's made out of beans and beans are a vegetable. Sooo the health lesson I taught was about smoking and addiction. I brought in... guess... chocolate! Haha!

I also had my second RA interview. It went pretty well. I guess I'll find out in a few days.

Today was Thursday. I didn't go to the Sunrise Service at 6:15am. It still amazes me how much Easter is celebrated in Christian circles. Anyway. I went to class, ate lunch with Danae, went to class again, and eventually got my stuff together and left. I got back in NJ around 4ish. I went running this afternoon... and it was cold. (There were flurries/light snow while driving up.) I finished my Foundations of Special Ed reflective paper and classroom analysis except for one section. YES! One more thing taken care of!

And now that I've talked your ears off (or written your eyes out), I shall go to bed. UC -- don't you just love my long silences and then my giant posts?

PS UC -- No matter what anyone tells you, I don't have a boyfriend. They're all delirious and have no idea what they're saying. Haha.

So anyway, a guy asked me out today. I think we're official.

Hi people! I don't have time to post pictures because I still have to reduce them all. These past weeks have been really busy.

March 20: We blindfolded Colleen and took her to Panera's for her birthday. That was fun.
March 22: I did field observation again because my Ed Tech class was canceled. We had a MuKappa dinner in the cafeteria and then I babysat. Aidan decided he couldn't sleep without his mom and his parents came home to get something and ended up staying instead.
March 23: I did more field observation and completed my 12 hours. We had our art show and that was fun. I slept over at Jessi's that night. Her sister Anna was visiting. (She slept over here Thurs-Fri.)
March 24: I was supposed to babysit, but that got canceled. I went to "Through Their Eyes" which was a seminar on teaching kids with learning disabilities. It was sooo much fun! I also really appreciated it because I had just been in the schools and I had Foundations of Special Ed. It's crazy how they're doing school now. Kids get juggled between classes for different "support" classes! Some might be in an inclusive classroom and go out for reading support or emotional support and stuff like that. It takes a lot of thought from the teachers so they can plan a class that has the least amount of kids leaving.
March 25: Went to church with Colleen. We went with the Sutherlands to the Majestic Oaks nursing home for their monthly ministry. Jon needs a haircut. He was playing the organ and the lady next to me said "She plays really well, doesn't she."
March 27: I found out at 10pm that I had the go signal to register online for classes. I'm supposed to register in 15 minutes. However, there was a glitch in the computer system. All the dual level people were allowed to register with the seniors! The computer even says that I'm a sophomore now, a junior in the summer, and a senior in the fall. Weird. Anyway I registered and emailed Mr Schlenker about it and he said he wouldn't drop my courses and consider myself fortunate that I could register early. Haha. Chris and Janita registered on Monday with all the seniors. I have 21 credits now but that's an overload and I'll probably drop one. I counted up credits -- God willing I'll be in between my junior and senior year during the fall semester. (I only need 6 credits after the summer to be a senior)

I learned how to draw a Celtic knot. It took 3 hrs, but hey!

My fingers are frozen!!! But I have new windshield wipers! I ran over to Sears only to discover that the sell windshield wipers in the auto part and they closed at 8pm and it was 8:03. Sooo... I decided to check Home Depot since it was right there and they said that Target, which was next door, sold them! Yay! So I went in and got one blade and realized at the checkout that it was just one blade and ran back for another.

I got back to school and found that they had put all the street lamps on (probably because of the music competiton) so I got the great idea to park under one and try to change the wipers. I couldn't figure it out and my fingers nearly froze off. So... I tried calling Uncle Chuck and then got the great idea to google "Changing windshield wipers on Mercury Sable." I found some sort of car forum where some guy complained about changing his wipers on his M.S. and I got the answer I needed! So I ran out again, froze my fingers off, but changed the blades. Yessss!

Anyhoo... I did more field observations today. Then I hung around with TCS people, playing the hand game and Zoom/Brake. Then I went to the awards ceremony and TCS was so sure they weren't winning anything that when they got called, they were in a daze. Haha.

So yeah... bye.

Hi people. Guess I should get around to updating this thing.

So the hoped-for snow day did not happen. I didn’t sleep well Sunday night because I was quite excited that there might be a snow day and I kept waking up because I wanted it to be 6:30 so I could check the school closing site. Hah, the most depressing moment in my college life is when you click that little emergency closing button and it says “All classes are being held as scheduled.” Do you realize how emotionally upsetting that is? Ok, that’s not the most depressing moment. The most depressing moment is when you check your semester grades and see a “D” and freak out because you can’t believe it’s true (and it wasn’t).

Anyway, classes are going just dandy. Oh I forgot to say, Saturday night I babysat 3 kids. Two of them were in bed and the oldest went to bed at 8:15. I got a lot of studying done. Yay. Anyway, Monday was the usual – class. I survived the night class too. Tuesday I had one class and since Foundations of Special Ed doesn’t meet anymore because of field observations, I babysat the 3 kids again. The oldest went to preschool and the other two napped. Sooo I got some more studying done. AND I bombed my Tuesday exam on Romans. So much for reading Romans 5 times. But at least I know now how to study for his exams. I HATE FIRST EXAMS!!! I never know what to expect and I usually study all the wrong things.

Anyway, Tuesday night we went to the new Chickfila because we got free sandwich coupons. I really wanted to work at the new one, but oh well. I think the Chickfila days are over.

Wednesday I had class and then went to visit Mrs. Fisher, aka “Millie.” She’s a sweet little lady. She showed me old pictures. Seriously, men and women back then looked so much more masculine and feminine! The girls were so pretty. She was the 13th of 14 kids and the kids were usually around 3 years apart.

Today we had class, Andy nearly threw my cellphone out the second story classroom window, I tutored Ruth, and went to dinner in the Eagle’s Nest. Two quotable quotes:

Spring break is coming up! I need to do stuff over break... like art projects and take pictures of eyes. Ahhh!!! And then we only have 7 weeks left! So much to do, so little time. I have to register for summer classes the week I come back, turn in all the RA application forms the week I get back, register for Fall classes in two weeks, meet with my advisor, tutor, babysit, visit Millie, work in the office, etc. Wheeeeeeeeee! I thrive on being busy.

OH YEAH!!! And I need to remember to get the commentaries on Psalms out of the library so I can do the thing about what the author’s literary approach is. That paragraph was really for my benefit.

Firefox reinstalled itself and deleted all my bookmarks and settings. Boooo. Also, if I unplug my computer from the back, it goes to battery. If I unplug it from the wall, it turns off. WEIRD!!!

I need to do art projects or something. BYE!
